John Hoyland:
At the Ig Nobel Awards 2009 Roadshow

The Ig Nobel prize is an award for improbable research or in other words research that "first make people laugh, and then make them think". This event is actually not the ceremony but a roadshow of some of the winners.

If you don’t have time to watch the entire event, I recommend the introduction and the very funny talk by John Hoyland (starting at 00:58:00) and the subsequent talk from Kees Moeliker (starting at 1:05:00). The other speakers are Piers Barnes, Mahmood Bhutta, Marie-Christine Cadiergues, Erwin Kompanje, Chris McManus, Dan Meyer, David Sims and Charles Spence.
